The Chinese New Year Festival in Auckland was a celebration of color. Yesterday I shared a photo of the Prime Minister watching the opening Lion Dance. Here are a few more of my favorite photos from the days events.
Shopping opportunities included gifts and food:
There was a huge queue as people waited for a turn to throw this white ball at a target in order to win. I have no idea what they won as it wasn’t posted on the sign in English. You can see the ball in the upper right corner, but mostly I love the expressions on people’s faces as they watched the ball fly.
The entertainment was excellent, varied, and concluded with a dance from adorable little children. Best of all the entire event, including the performances, was free.
I couldn’t resist this one, after a bow at the end of their performance. The blue hair is reflecting the lights.
I am really enjoying my new Olympus OM-D E-M5 micro 4/3 camera. The smaller size is so much more convenient, the creative options are all available and the quality output speaks for itself.
