Lamb Docking Photos

Clipping a lamb's ears to mark it's age in New Zealand
Using the same standard pattern as all lambs in New Zealand and Australia, the lambs ears are clipped as an age marker.

Docking a lamb with a cautarizing iron in New Zealand
Using a docking iron, the lamb’s tail is removed while the nerves and the wound are cauterized at the same time. As an observer, the worst part isn’t the smell, but rather the sadness for the poor lamb.
