That’s right, we are out of here on another adventure. No more winter, we are leaving the beautiful southern hemisphere and heading North. In just a few hours I will be saying goodbye to the cold.
You will never guess our first stop.
We can’t believe it either.
In just a few short hours we will in a tropical paradise. Fiji is one of my favorite vacation spots. Here is what it looked like last time we were there:
Another Adventure Starts Here
No tropical paradise for us. No beaches, no warm ocean water gently gliding over our feet as our toes dig deeper into the sand. Not even any grilled coconut, an island treat we have come to love so much we often prepare it for ourselves at home.
No, this time we just sit there. Six hours in the airport. A layover on the way to America.
By this time tomorrow we will be soaking up that southern California sun.
We will only be in Los Angeles for a short time, but long enough to catch up with family and friends before we keep going north to Alaska.
The good news for us is Alaska is amazing.
The bad news is that internet in Alaska isn’t so amazing, especially as we head inland. So, if it’s quiet here for a while, keep coming back. We have some exciting adventures planned, and a few surprises. You know there will be lots of photos.
And this is only the beginning of another adventure. This one will take us across the United States on 10 flights, 3 trains, two cars and hopefully some turtles (don’t panic, they are for viewing, not riding.).
That brings me to the Friday blog hop I try and keep up with – Thanks to Viklit over at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author for hosting Celebrating Small Things:
- I always celebrate being able to travel with my wonderful family.
- I celebrate being able to pack for two seasons with less luggage than most people do for one.
- I celebrate having internet this week (especially as it will be very spotty for me for the next seven weeks.)
- I celebrate finding a home exchange partner that I trust.
- I celebrate the Stanley Cup with my hometown friends.
